Previously, iOS hacker Luca Todesco released video that showed iOS 9.3 Cydia install and various other jailbreak tweaks running on iOS 9.3 beta 2. It’s unclear if Todesco used the same vulnerability that TaiG and PanGu Jailbreak teams has been working with, but he said at the time that he has no intention of making iOS 9.3 jailbreak public.
Apple had seeded lot of beta versions, They has seeded the following beta versions for registered iOS developers and as well as public testers, Such as watchOS 2.2 beta, tvOS 9.2 beta, OS X El Capitan 10.11.4 beta and most importantly new iOS 9.3 beta. Poking into iOS 9 is fun. A little annoyed at some new things. But very surprised at how similar it is to iOS 8 internally.
Worth noting, iOS 9+ arm64 iDevices now enforce a checksum on __TEXT/DATA.const regions of the kernel through the use of TrustZone. Modifying said sections will cause the device to panic (either at kernel or EL3 will force a reboot if the kernel refused to gracefully panic). Essentially, it’s KPP (Kernel Patch Protection). You can race it though if you want to play with things. Just be quick! ;P
Also, there should technically now be two additional partitions (baseband_data [s1s3] and logs [s1s4]) but didn’t really bother with those as they weren’t critical.
Few days back Pangu team had confirmed that Apple had patched two exploits used in the iOS 8.4.1 Jailbreak, so we thought that it will make it even more difficult to jailbreak iOS 9 version. So it is quite impressive that he has managed to install Cydia for iOS 9.
Apple released iOS 9 with the same build number as iOS 9 Golden Master, so it will be possible to jailbreak the public release as well. It remains to be seen if iH8sn0w will release a Jailbreak tool for iOS 9. But since iOS 9 can be jailbroken, users who still on iOS 8.4 or lower versions, avoid upgrading to iOS 9 and wait for the iOS 9 jailbreak tool to be released. It is also possible that TaiG and Pangu team can discover the jailbreak exploits, and release a jailbreak for iOS 9.
