Can’t use PanGu or TaiG jailbreak for iOS 9.2.1?
Pangu iOS 9 jailbreak which works on iOS 9 – iOS 9.0.2 Jailbreak are currently not compatible with iOS 9.2.1 Jailbreak. Because, Apple has patched Pangu jailbreak in iOS 9.1 update.
When will release jailbreak for iOS 9.2.1 – iOS 9.3?
Apple will release all new iOS 9.3 in later this month. So, most probably Pangu Jailbreak and TaiG jb also will delay to release jailbreak until iOS 9.3 is alive. If Taig or Pangu found exploits in iOS 9.3 & iOS 9 Jailbreak will keep it for upcoming version.
Apple has reportedly patched a software vulnerability that made it possible to Jailbreak iOS 9.3. The fix comes in its fifth beta seeds which was rolled out on Tuesday, and it could make Cydia download for iOS 9.3 more difficult.
According to sources the iOS 9.3 Jailbreak has unfortunately been secured by Apple in the latest iOS 9.3 Beta 5. It is unknown as to how Apple has found the iOS 9.3 Jailbreak holes to patch it’s [sic] iOS up and whether sources are correct at this point in time.
A jailbreak that takes advantage of this vulnerability was supposedly being developed by team TaiG Jailbreak. But now that this exploit has been eliminated, they’ll have to find another one before they can deliver a working solution for iOS 9.3 Jailbreak.
Previously, iOS hacker Luca Todesco released video that showed iOS 9.3 Cydia install and various other jailbreak tweaks running on iOS 9.3 beta 2. It’s unclear if Todesco used the same vulnerability that TaiG and PanGu Jailbreak teams has been working with, but he said at the time that he has no intention of making iOS 9.3 jailbreak public.
It’s been several months since Apple killed iOS 9 Jailbreak with iOS 9.1 release, which fixed a couple of the exploits used in the Pangu iOS 9 – iOS 9.0.2 Jailbreak. Unfortunately, there has been no significant news by PanGu team or TaiG team on the progress of a new jailbreak for iOS 9.1 and above but one of iOS developer, Luca Todesco revealed a few weeks ago that he successfully jailbreak iOS 9.2.1 as well as iOS 9.3 beta 1.
The same hacker has now posted a new video showing a demonstration of the untethered jailbreak on his iPhone 6 with running on iOS 9.2. In the video, he performs various tasks possible only on a jailbroken device to prove his achievement, including launching fully working Cydia to show his iOS version. The hacker also claims that his untethered jailbreak for iOS 9.2.1 and iOS 9.3 beta as well.
Untethered Jailbreak iOS 9.2.1, iOS 9.2 & iOS 9.3 beta [Video]
Luca Todesco might not be a well known developer / hacker to some but Apple recently credited him for security vulnerabilities that were fixed in iOS 9.2 update.
As for a public release of his jailbreak tool, Luca mentioned in the description of his video that he does not plan to release it soon and it shall remain for private use. But this raises hopes that an untethered jailbreak for iOS 9.1 – iOS 9.3 is still possible. Whole jailbreak community focus on @Pangu Jailbreak and @Taig Jailbreak team for new iOS 9.1 – iOS 9.3 Jailbreak release.
Apple iOS 9.3 was released into beta testing and this could spell trouble for those waiting for a iOS 9.2.1 jailbreak tool.
However, for those wanting to take advantage of a possible release that was slated for iOS 9.2.1 (we actually know iOS 9.2.1 has already been jailbroken, but no public tool available yet) in the coming weeks, the release of iOS 9.3 into beta testing massively complicates the issue. This is for two reasons. Firstly, it now means that a major update of iOS is now in the wild and jailbreaking teams will likely want to release a tool for it, rather than the intermediate iOS 9.2.1 Jailbreak update, especially as iOS 9.3 added some new features such as Night Shift and updates to 3D Touch.
The latter will only be of use to iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, but Night Shift as well as some of the other new features and tweaks in iOS 9.3 will definitely be useful to jailbreakers with older devices.
Why iOS 9.2.1 Jailbreak tool release is too late?
As well as having a jailbreak for the latest version of iOS, there’s one other reason that jailbreaking teams may hold off on releasing a tool and skipping iOS 9.2.1 Jailbreak altogether. The likelihood is that as soon as the tool is released, Apple will patch the exploits it uses. If the teams release an Jailbreak for iOS 9.2.1, it could introduce a patch into iOS 9.3 and bring forward its release to essentially kill the iOS 9.3 jailbreak for a lot of people.
@TaiG Jailbreak team has already been successful in releasing a jailbreak for iOS 9.2.1 beta version. Apart from that, @PanGu Jailbreak team (jailbreak team who surprised the whole jailbreak community with Pangu iOS 9.0 – iOS 9.0.2 Jailbreak) also working on finiding the most effiecient way of jailbreaking iOS 9.2.1 and iOS 9.3.
Apple had seeded lot of beta versions, They has seeded the following beta versions for registered iOS developers and as well as public testers, Such as watchOS 2.2 beta, tvOS 9.2 beta, OS X El Capitan 10.11.4 beta and most importantly new iOS 9.3 beta. It’s great news for the jailbreak community as well since the beta version of iOS 9.3 has been jailbroken quickly with it’s release.
Every iOS Jailbreak fans has been eagerly waiting for the release of the next jailbreak including a jailbreak for iOS 9.2. The same hacker who previously shared a screenshot of a jailbreak iOS 9.2.1 beta with his iPhone 6 running iOS 9.2.1 – Luca Todesco – has shared a video showcasing a jailbreak iOS 9.3 beta 1.
In the video, to confirm that the version of iOS that he was jailbroken was in fact Apple’s latest iOS 9.3 beta 1, Todesco showed off some of the new features including the new Night Shift mode which can be used to change the gamma values of the iPhone’s screen.

we’ll keep you upgraded know as soon as there are any further updates on the iOS 9.2 / iOS 9.3 jailbreak and other important things in Jailbreak community. So don’t forget to keep following us. Thanks for reading!
It’s been more than 2 months since Apple killed the iOS 9.1 jailbreak, and in that time we’ve seen the public release of iOS 9.1 update, 9.2 update and also a beta version of 9.2.1 update, with no update to the Pangu9 tool. So as you can imagine, we’ve received a lot of questions regarding the current status of the jailbreak. Here is what we know so far about iOS 9.1 – iOS 9.2 Jailbreak.
Apple released iOS 9 on September 16. That was quickly followed by iOS 9.0.1 and 9.0.2 later in the month, with significant bug and security fixes. The iOS 9 jailbreak landed on October 13, courtesy of the talented Pangu Team, and iOS 9.0 – iOS 9.0.2 Jailbreak was compatible with all iOS 9.0 – iOS 9.0.2 running devices.
Pangu 9 jailbreak tool was stopped by Apple on October 21, with the release of iOS 9.1 update, which patched several security exploits used by the team of hackers. So, 9.0.2 is the latest version of iOS that’s eligible to be jailbreak, and Apple has long stopped signing the software, meaning you can’t up/downgrade to it.
We’ve heard that both Pangu and TaiG are working on jailbreak tools for the latest public version of iOS, which is 9.2 update. In fact, a recent report pointed to a ‘Weibo'(Chinese) post by TaiG partner 3K Assistant which indicated their Taig iOS 9.2 Jailbreak tool is nearly complete. Unfortunately, that’s all we’ve heard—we have no knowledge of an exact release date.
Now all we have to do is sit and wait. The aforementioned teams aren’t much for status updates, and they have been extremely sporadic with recent releases. An iOS 9.2 jailbreak could literally come at anytime. So for those of you anxiously awaiting its arrival, be sure to keep following us, because as soon as we know more, you’ll update.
Should you update to iOS 9.2 update?
It really depends on your situation. Obviously, if you are on iOS 9.0.x and are either enjoying a jailbreak or still considering it, you should stay put. If you’re on iOS 9.1, then you can upgrade to latest iOS 9.2 update, because if TaiG or PanGu upgrade theirs utility, it will be compatible with both iOS 9.1 jailbreak and iOS 9.2 Jailbreak
Less than a week after iOS 9.1 beta 4 release, Apple on Monday issued a brand new, 5th beta of iOS 9’s first major software update. iOS 9.1 beta 5 (build number 13B137) for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch is available to both registered iOS developers and Apple public beta testers.
iOS 9.1 beta 5 is available as a standalone download through Apple’s portal for developers and also can update through OTA update. To apply the update over-the-air on your device running an iOS beta, go to Settings > General > Software Update. Public beta testers signed for the Apple Beta Software Program can also install iOS 9.1 beta 5 update.
As per the iOS 9.1 beta 5 release note, there are no new special features in this update, with an over the air update prompt stating that this beta version of iOS 9.1 contains bug fixes and unspecified improvements. But developers should look out for a few remaining issues related to iCloud Keychain, PhotoKit, Restore and UIKit, signaling that a public launch is just around the corner.
Additionally, iOS 9.1 will bring support for new emoji icons, including taco, burrito, cheese wedge, popcorn, middle finger and many more and also will be some fresh new wallpapers, too. iOS 9.1 contains compatibility support for the forthcoming Apple iPad Pro and Apple Pencil and developer support for the Live Photos feature on the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.
The iOS 9.1 first beta was released to developers following Apple’s iPhone 6s event in September 2015 at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco. Latest public iOS 9 update is iOS 9.0.2 and there are no available way to download Cydia for iOS 9.0.2. But reputed Jailbreak teams like TaiG and PanGu races to release first iOS 9 Jailbreak to the public
